Ideye Challenges Eagles to Ratchet Up Intensity at AFCON

Former The Super Eagles along with West Bromwich Albion forward Brown Ideye has urged Nigeria to act faster during elimination matches against Mozambique, cautioning that they won’t get another opportunity to correct errors.

A 37-year-old player who participated in all six matches for Nigeria during the AFCON 2013 competition managed by the late Stephen Keshi expressed admiration for the perfect performance recorded by Eric Chelle's team across the group-stage matches held in Morocco.

"The elimination round is distinct from the group stage," said the ex-Enyimba International striker during an appearance on the Home Turf Podcast with Bet9ja.

Operate it right from the very beginning, and maintain the speed at which you begin the game throughout.

Ideye advised the team to steer clear of the error they made versus DR Congo in World Cup qualification, stating, "I understand it's challenging since you may begin the match strongly, but ultimately, your energy could dwindle from exhaustion, yet we won't get another opportunity."

We don't have room for errors over the next three days. Start strong and achieve your targets. Score more than one goal—if possible, aim for five.

The match between Nigeria and Mozambique will take place at the Complexe de Fes, starting at 8 pm on Monday.
